A homegoing service for Mr. Louis “Big Ben” Benjamin was held Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Church of Trust God Ministries in Loris, South Carolina. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in Tampa, Florida on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 11:00 A.M.

Mr. Benjamin was a retired operator from the International Organization of Operating Engineers. He attended the public schools in Georgia and Florida, graduating from Middleton Sr. High School, Class of 1966. He was a true patriarch of his family, known as a kind, gentle loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He was a deacon at his church, Church of Trust God Ministries, and beloved and respected by all who knew him.

He leaves to mourn his passing a devoted wife, Sabrina Wilson Benjamin; daughters, Franchesa Benjamin-Russ, Lisa Williams (John); Tammy Benjamin and Shannon Wilson; sons, Frank Benjamin and Emanuel Wilson; grandchildren, Tierra, Romello, Jabari, Kemi, Justin, Jamiya, Jordon, Marlon, Frank Benjamin, Jr., Schyla and Caden; great grandchildren, Marlie, Julissa and Layla; sisters, Verlyn Benjamin-Crompton and Matlene Benjamin-Lindsey (Robert); brothers, Willie Matthiew (Wynetta) and John Lester Benjamin; nieces, Pamyla (Rodrick), Kimberly, Robin, Melynda (Kevin), Rita, Yvonne, Theresa (Eddie), Tamika, Andrea, Erica (Craig), Joan, Monique, Reva Latisha and Savannah; nephews, Joseph, III, Tavares, Terry, Robert, Raymond, Michael, Jeremiah, Joshua and Isaiah; sisters-in-law, Lillie P. Gerald and Gail Thompson (Randy); brother-in-law, James Davis Bellamy; special friends, Robert Brooks, Will, Hicks, Tony, Greg, William, Bernard Thomas, Charlie Ross, Edward Walker, The Middleton Class of 1966 and a host of devoted friends and relatives in the South Carolina and Tampa Bay Area.

A Memorial gathering to honor his life will be held Sunday, June 10, 2010 at the Knollwood Manor Club House, 6801 N. Diana Ct., Tampa, FL 33610 (off 30th Street) from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
